Jimmy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At an early age he moved to Madison Wisconsin where he spent most of his life. Observing nature and immersing himself in it provides information for color, texture, form and concepts in his art.

Jimmy received his BFA from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 2005 and his MFA from the University of Kansas in 2009. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally and maintains an active studio practice. Jimmy is currently Studio Manager at the James May Gallery.
